Huon Hooke
Impressively deep, bold, bright purple hue, with a lot of blue tints. The smoky, charcoal, oak-tinged aroma is likewise fresh, bright and bold - and a trifle callow. It's very ripe and almost jammy. The wine is also very young and bold on the tongue, bright and raw, and just a little firm at this stage. It might have benefited from more time in wood. Meaty, blueberry and charcuterie aromas later. It certainly has density, concentration, grip and structure. Long term.
