Ranked #19 of 28 2009 Shiraz from Clare Valley
87/100

Huon Hooke
Woody, smoky, earthy aromas showing some development. Not all that fresh or bright. Liberal smooth tannins with a slight chewiness in texture. Rich, tannic, slightly licorice aftertaste and a hint of ironstone. Some alcohol after-heat.

92 Points Robert Parker
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 EWP Shiraz has a nose of ripe blackberries, mulberries and touch of creme de cassis with some violets, spice box and a little licorice mixed in. Big, rich and full-bodied, it is very spicy in the mouth and structured with a medium-firm level of velvety tannins. It finishes quite long with a touch of vanilla on the end. Drink it now to 2019.
