Ranked #110 of 260 2018 Shiraz from Barossa Valley

Huon Hooke
Very deep, bold, youthful purple colour. The bouquet has some charred-oak overtones superimposed on blackberry and dark plum, the palate full-bodied and rich, ripe and slightly rustic in its gritty tannins and bold, super-ripe flavours. Graphite and black olive chime in. A gutsy shiraz that will respond to ageing as well as to hearty food.

95 Points James Halliday
38% new French oak, 15% whole bunches. Ground coffee, ripe plum/redcurrant and blackberry flavours sweep confidently through the palate, chicory and sweet earth characters carried along for the ride. It's not flashy or necessarily seductive, but it's the most impeccable Barossa shiraz you could ever hope to find. It will mature beautifully. Drink to 2040.
