This wine was produced as part of the 'Scarce Earth' project, which highlights the geologically diverse nature of the McLaren Vale region. It is sourced from the Burnt Block, of the Piebald Gully vineyard in the sub-region of Clarendon, which is the coolest part of McLaren Vale. The block is comprised of North and South Maslin sand, of medium to coarse grain, with rocky outcrops. It is a spirited wine with vibrant red berry flavours and bright acidity. The tannins are fine and balanced.
