A whiff of smoky cedary oak here, unusual in Wendouree, the bouquet youthful but complex. A superbly powerful, bold young wine with the same elegance and polish that is a hallmark of the modern Wendourees. Lashings of tannin, but soft and silky into the bargain. It's arguably not very typical of the vineyard—although a little age may bring out the terroir more.
