Huon Hooke
Deep red/purple colour, rich wood-moss, spice, 'forest floor' aromas implying some whole-bunch. The wine is medium to full-bodied and nicely proportioned and shaped, the balance and softness of tannins, the seamless harmony are very good. Fresh acidity enlivens the finish and spicy aftertaste. Long, long carry. It's less pinot than shiraz to taste. Very smart wine.

97 Points James Halliday
50/50% blend. It's a medium-weight wine (at most), but it's in rude good health; its complex flavours are like flowing robes, all silk and fine stitching. Red cherry and plum, garden herbs and twigs, nuts and bowls of wet flowers. Tannin, spicy, is laced exquisitely through the finish. If an elegant, mid-weight wine can be a humdinger, this is one. Drink to 2037.
