This is an enjoyable and fascinating wine, one presents a good argument for drinking aged riesling. Golden colour. Subtle aromas, blossom and creme caramel. In the mouth initially shows honeysuckle, toasty, nutty flavours, and a texture that is somewhere between oily and creamy. The finish is long, stewed apple, a little lime, a hint of rubber, with a fine acid backbone. Aged riesling is particularly enjoyable alongside European bistro style food, so in honour of riesling's German origins I drank this alongside Jaeger Schnitzel mit Spaetzle (Veal schnitzel and egg noodles with a creamy mushroom sauce). A delicious pairing!
