This is a classy cabernet on the richer side as to be expected from the Barossa. Inky, opaque purple in colour and a nose of cigar box, chocolate, cinnamon and raisins with an earthiness that is nicely balanced by a general lightness of fruit that is a pleasant surprise given the regional reputation. Excellent focus and length on the palate. Built to last with tannins that are only beginning to integrate, this baby really opened up over 2 hours and warmed the bones nicely during Sydney's wettest july in 60yrs. Drank with a juicy sirloin steak but would complement any red meat or pasta dish. Very good indeed.
