A controversial wine. Ranked 7th in the top 100 for 2010 by US magazine Wine Spectator, Schild found themselves running low on supply, so purchased, blended and bottled additional wine under the same label. I have no idea whether my bottle was first or second blend, but judging what I have in my glass, if you like an old fashioned Barossa Shiraz, you'll be hard pressed to find better for the price. Warming, glow inducing. American oak to the fore. Malt and coconut. Blackberries and plums. Nice mouth coating tannins, well balanced and good long finish.
