Zema Estate
Zema Estate in Coonawarra has been run by the Zema family since 1982. The 150 acre property on prime terra rossa soil has plantings of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, malbec and nebbiolo.
Today the winery is run by Nick and Matt Zema, who have taken over the day-to-day management of the winery from their parents Dometrio and Francesca. They are continuing the family's very traditional approach to vineyard management and viticulture practices. No irrigation and hand pruning of vines are methods employed to which produce intense, low yielding rich fruit of the highest quality. The reds are typically deep in colour, rounded and full of fruit and tannin - designed for long cellaring.
