Huon Hooke
Deepish red colour with a tinge of purple and a slightly green-vegetal, tomato bush aroma, the palate lean and drying, sinewy and a little reedy, lacking flesh and richness. Stalky herbal flavours. There is a measure of elegance and subtlety to the wine. The length is good, the aftertaste drying and very savoury.

Forward tawny-hued garnet. Black fruit, mint, cedar and some gamey notes vie for attention. The palate is medium-bodied and supple in the middle before the grainy tannins from 22 months in 60% new oak kick in, drying the finish. Drink to 2030.
