Ranked #4 of 33 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Malbec from South Australia

Huon Hooke
Deep red purple; oak-driven fruitcake bouquet, a Wolf Blass signature. Big wine with obvious acid, tannin and oak. A trifle concocted in traditional Aussie style. Also has some trademark 2003 mulchy aromas, but mercifully not much. A little 4-square and obvious. Lots of guts and potential for aging. Cellar it. Best 2008 to 2015.

94 Points James Halliday
A rich, aromatic bouquet with ripe fruit and oak in chorus, then a deeply textured and structured palate, happily with none of the aggressive tannins of the Platinum Label Shiraz; a major success in a difficult vintage. Drink to 2034.
