Huon Hooke
Very deep, dark and youthful red/purple colour, with tints remarkably young for its years. Deep, dense, rich bouquet which is heavily oak-infused and slightly coconutty. Very full-bodied, firm and structured, with masses of tannin and firm grip. Fruit sweet middle-palate and stacks of flavour, fruitcake to the fore. It's young yet and needs more time.

Impenetrable colour; as ever this is no shrinking violet, as it is full throttle, pedal to the metal power, with super-ripe, but not over-ripe, black fruit melding with fine-grained toasty oak in abundance; the palate is densely packed, big-boned and hefty, yet remains relatively light on its feet; big is beautiful for some. Drink to 2022.
